MY APPROACH

PEOPLE, VALUE, FLEXIBILITY.

In making people and the business at the core of the management, you make projects and profits better.
Cowshed projects has been set up to provide the full benefits of project management, to help companies that aren't big enough to sustain an experienced project management office or don't feel they are mature enough in how they run projects, in a way they can afford..

WITH PURPOSE

FIND VALUE
Understand what you need, what the project needs, what the other parties need.
Use this to find the value.  Value isn't always looking at the bottom line straight away.

GIVE VALUE
I am flexible and adapt to what is needed.  Using experience and knowledge from continuous learning and experience of many different companies, I'm able to see solutions that you may not quicker.

SHARE VALUE
The value for all parties come from different places.  In exploring what everyone needs from the project you open up possibilities that aren't available if you only explore your own needs.  This gives more opportunities to get value
Cowsheds aim is get best value, help you and make your projects and profit better.

USE WHAT YOU'VE GOT
Don't throw process, tech or labour at the project straight away. Set up your team to ensure projects are run efficiently and productively without adding to management.  Create leaders not managers if you will.

INFORM BETTER
Limit communication and information fog, making quicker and better decisions, the main factor in wasted time on projects.

THE PROJECTS

My approach to project management is based around fitting the method and people to the project, not fitting the project to the method or people.  Using some principles to focus that approach to provide a vision that work for me and you.

THE PRINCIPLES

THE PROJECT IS FOR THE BUSINESS
EVERY PROJECT IS DIFFERENT
LOOK FORWARD
COMMUNICATE EFFECTIVELY
UNDERSTAND
QUALITY, COST, PROGRAM
ENABLE AND TRUST THE RIGHT PEOPLE
RESPECT RESPONSIBILITY
BE HONEST, CONSISTENT, COMPETENT
DON'T DO IF ITS NOT NEEDED

More in depth information on these principles can be read in my blogs.  In using these principles everyone gets value.

No projects are the same, that's the definition of a project .... so don't fight it, understand it.

There are PM methods and tools that are very good and can be applied, but lets not believe or hope that one fits all.

The aim is to keep looking forward and make the project the best it can, they can soon run away!  Stay in enough control to maximize value.

Projects will be better and more fun ....
